New Delhi: 'Ghoomar,' which was released on August 18, has received widespread acclaim. The film, starring Saiyami Kher and Abhishek Bachchan, received praise not only from the audience but also from eminent cricketers such as Sachin Tendulkar. Directed by R Balki, 'Ghoomar' has indeed taken the theatres by storm.

In a chat with ABP Live, Saiyami Kher shared her experience working with R Balki and also said that she is someone who loves being on the film set.

"I have known Balki for quite sometime. He gave me this film, because he saw me playing cricket in his wife's birthday somewhere. And, he said that it would be very authentic if you do it. Working with him on set was a whole new experience becaue he is somebody who is so sharp and so intelligent and so passionate that I used to just sit back and watch him because there is a lot to learn when you watch a genious at work," she said.

Talking about whether she expects new opportunities to come her way given that 'Goomar' was such a big success, Saiyami said, "I hope so. The response that has come has been very overwhelming. Lot of love has come, not only from the audience but others as well. So, I hope this opens up opportunities for me because as an actor you obviously want to do more better work. So, I keep my fingers crossed."

"I am somebody who is very happy to be on a film set. As an actor you want to keep doing challenging roles and that's something I always keep in mind. I don't want to repeat something I do. Like, in my next film I am playing a fire-fighter. I have never played a fire-fighter on screen. So, I just want to keep working all the time," she further added.

Recalling the advise given by Akshay Kumar, Saiyami continued to say, "Akshay Kumar had said this to me 'Bas kaam karte jaao, you will be getting more work.' So, I just want to keep working and I want to be in front of camera for as long as I can."

Apart from being appreciated far and wide for her performance in 'Ghoomar', Saiyami also received a letter from Amitabh Bachchan.

Talking about that, Saiyami said, "Well, that's that one time when I let all emotions out because I wasn't expecting it at all. I was sitting at home, next day after release and in between all this promotion and chaos, I was just sitting and having my meal and I got this letter. So, all the emotions that I had kept inside, came out because it's just something which every actor dreams of, every actor wants that validation from Mr. Bachchan. So, it always feels good when such dream are fulfilled."

Taking to Instagram, she shared the picture along with a long note saying, "I remember seeing a short film called “Looking for Amitabh” on how the visually challenged perceive this icon. From describing his trademark baritone to the sound of his shoes, or the scent of his perfume. We don’t even see Mr. Bachchan, but we can experience the impact created by this superstar."

"As a kid, the signature KBC tune meant it was bedtime. My parents would come back from work. And my grandparents would finish up their chores. Despite our diverse interests and age gaps, this one show brought three generations together," she continued.

Furthermore, she said, "If there was a contestant who gushed over Mr. Bachchan, Aiedu, my grandmom would sit preening about him. She did this until her last breath. He was after all from her part of the country. Any compliment to him obviously meant a compliment to her. He represented the heartlands of our country. He represented the fulfillment of dreams. He represented hope."

Saiyami also wrote about her journey in the post saying, "Since I began acting, there have been many ups and downs. There were so many people who brushed me off telling me I was “hopeless”. But I tried keeping my head above the water. While every rejection hurt, every rejection also made me work harder."

"I've always kept everything bottled up. At the premiere of Ghoomer in Melbourne, everybody was sobbing. “Show some emotion Kher saab”, AB said as he hugged me after our standing ovation. But I stood there seemingly zen about everything. In reel life I can cry buckets, in real life, you will never know how I’m feeling. Yesterday, as I sat at home pondering my fate, someone rang the doorbell. There was a bouquet of flowers and a handwritten note. My heart skipped a beat. Is this what I think it is? THE stamp of approval which every actor in this country dreams of? I looked up to the skies and finally bawled, “Look what this is, Aiedu.”," she concluded her post.
