‘People Can’t Differentiate Between Crime And Mischief’: Roadies Fame Shreya Kalra On Her Viral ‘Dancing On Zebra Crossing’ Video

Reacting to the FIR filed against her, Shreya Kalra revealed that she ‘had to apologise in front of the media’ and say that this wasn’t her ‘intent to influence anybody else to follow the same thing'.

New Delhi: A video of a girl dancing on zebra-crossing has been going viral on social media for the last few days. The video is from Indore and the girl (Roadies fame Shreya Kalra) came into the limelight after this Instagram reel of hers got viral and landed her into legal trouble. Minister for Home Affairs, Law, Prisons, and Parliamentary Affairs Narottam Mishra ordered police to file a case against her on September 15, 2021.

Now, reacting to the FIR filed against her, Shreya Kalra revealed while talking to Times Of India that she ‘had to apologise in front of the media’ and say that this wasn’t her ‘intent to influence anybody else to follow the same thing because it is risky and dangerous.’ She further said that they charged her a fine of Rs. 200.

She was quoted saying by the publication, “People don’t follow rules in India and that’s why it has been taken illegally. When I did the video I never thought that it would go viral. I didn’t think that it would become such a huge issue. But it happened and then things turned completely wrong and I started getting calls from a police inspector.” She further said that she never thought that the video would go viral in a negative way.

Shreya also disclosed her mental status during that time and told TOI, “I thought it was blown out of proportion by the media. There are many things – robbery, dacoits, murders and nobody acts on it. People don’t get justice for years. And a small thing like this, which is a mistake and not a crime, you filed an FIR against a girl.” “I got depressed. I kept thinking about how to handle this. People started trolling me, drop hate comments on my profile. People said, ‘She should go to jail for this.’ I kept thinking that they just can’t differentiate between a crime and a mischief. The Govt. has so much time, that they filed an FIR against me”, she added.

Shreya then told the publication that she is ‘trying to move on’ and revealed that  Indore’s DSP Umakant Choudhary Sir helped her get out of this legal situation.
