New Delhi: 'Kantara' continues to create headlines long after its theatrical run. Its release on OTT giant Amazon Prime Video created excitement among fans and audiences who are yet to watch the film. Recently, an interview of actor-director Rishabh Shetty went viral in which he is seen talking about South actors like Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Sai Pallavi and Rashmika Mandanna among others. The reason why Rishab is creating headlines is because the 'Harikathe Alla Girikathe' actor took a dig at Rashmika Mandanna.

In a chat with Glute.com, Rishab was asked who among Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Rashmika Mandanna, Keerthy Suresh and Sai Pallavi, he would like to work on his next project. In his response, Rishab said, "I decide my actors once I finish my script. I prefer working with newcomers as they come with no barriers." Talking about the actors mentioned, he added, "These actors, I don't like them, But, I like the work of Sai Pallavi and Samantha."

He also went on to praise these actors and called them true artists also highlighting the fact that they were among the finest performers in recent times, without mentioning Rashmika Mandanna.

For those unaware, there is a reason why Rishab spoke along these lines about the 'Pushpa' actress. Perhaps, an old interview with Curly Tales could be the reason where Rashmika suggested that acting wasn't her first choice. As per reports, Rishab's reaction to Rashmika could be because of this interview she gave a long time ago.

In the said interview, Rashmika had spoken about when she has won the title of Fresh Face. " I said okay to the competition as one of my teachers came and told me. I took part and we had state-level competition, and national-level competition adn then I ended up getting the title."

The actress then added that soon after this, she got a call from a production house which she thought was a prank call. Although she did not name the production house, Rashmika's eagle-eyed fans pointed out that the production house belonged to Paramvah Studios, co-founded by Raskhit Shetty, a close friend of Rishab Shetty.

Rashmika Mandanna made her acting debut with 'Kirik Party', directed by Rishab Shetty in 2016.
