New Delhi: After Alia Bhatt announced her pregnancy this week, the news broke the internet as congratulatory messages poured in for new-parents-to-be Alia and Ranbir Kapoor. Fans and celebs from Bollywood and Hollywood congratulated Alia as she shared the news on her official Instagram account. Allegedly, the news about Alia Bhatt's pregnancy was revealed on Reddit by a user whose post was banned as moderators deemed it to be fake.
Two months before the official announcement, a Reddit user claimed that the gossip had been passed on to her by one of Alia's makeup artists who also happened to be the user's friend. According to Mashable, on the BollyBlindsNGossip thread back in April, user newbee_forfun had said, "Apparently Ms. Bhatt is pregnant. Source is an assistant who is a friend/make-up artist."
The publication also reported that several users called this claim fake while many pointed out why would the make-up artist share that personal information in the first place.
According to the same report, the user's account was suspended and later restored.
On Monday, Alia Bhatt took to her official Instagram handle to share pictures of herself, Ranbir and an ultrasound scan from a hospital bed announcing her pregnancy with a caption that read, "Our baby ….. coming soon."
Alia also shared another picture of a lion, lioness and a baby cub announcing the pregnancy. The gesture stole many hearts and within a day of posting received more than 67 lakh likes.
Among those who congratulated Alia were Gal Gadot, Anushka Sharma, Priyanka Chopra, Rakul Preet Singh, and many others.
