New Delhi: Ranveer Singh hosted the Filmfare Awards on Tuesday and entertained the audience with his wit and antics. The actor cracked jokes on industry colleagues, Ranbir, and Alia’s wedding. He also had an interesting conversation with Vicky Kaushal and also revealed that there are many similarities between Vicky and him.

Ranveer said, “Vicky Kaushal has had a wonderful year. Both Vicky and I are mama’s boys. We both were supposed to play brothers in Karan Johar’s Takht." The Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani actor continued, “After all, we both are tall dark and handsome. Both of us are living our own fairy tales (marrying Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif). People tell us ‘woh dono humare aukaat se bahar hai’."

Ranveer and Vicky were supposed to play brother in Karan Johar’s now-shelved film ‘Takht’.

Ranveer also joked about Alia and Ranbir's wedding which was held at Ranbir and Alia's home. “Alia-Ranbir’s wedding was the best. It was small, intimate and cosy. They saved so much money when it came to food. My Sindhi dad is also very happy with their wedding," he said.

While Ranveer Singh took home the Best Actor trophy for his film '83’, Vicky Kaushal won the Best Actor (Critics) Award for his performance in ‘Sardar Udham Singh’. Both the actors were accompanied by their wives and actors Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif.

Infact, Deepika presented the Best Actor trophy to Ranveer. While Ranveer opted for a red suit and a bowtie, Deepika sported a casual look with a long blue shirt and matching denim and white shoes. After receiving the award, Ranveer Singh joked in a heavy accent, “Ranveer Singh powered by Deepika Padukone.” He also kissed Deepika on the stage.

Ranveer also was quick to comment on Vicky and Katrina when they were entering the venue. “Oh my god, beautiful couple, God bless, God bless,” Ranveer said from the stage. Arjun Kapoor, who was co-hosting with Ranveer also said, “Aayi Chikni Chameli (referring to Katrina's dance number) with Vicky Kaushal.”

On the work front, Ranveer Singh will be seen next in ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ with Alia Bhatt. Directed by Karan Johar, the film also stars Shabana Azmi, Jaya Bachchan and Dharmendra among others.
