Mumbai: Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra got arrested by the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police on July 19, for his alleged role in a case related to the production of pornographic content. The businessman was produced before the court on Friday (June 23), where the cops demanded the extension of his custody. Raj Kundra’s custody has now been extended till July 27, 2021.
Well, after receiving the extended custody of Raj Kundra, the Mumbai Police raided Shilpa Shetty Kundra’s residence and also interrogated the ‘Hungama 2’ actress related to the case. The Crime Branch seized some electronic items during the search and two officials also asked Shilpa around 20-25 questions in relation to her husband’s alleged pornography case.
According to sources, the Crime Branch has received information that the actress knew about HotShots. When the investigating team asked Shilpa Shetty about her husband Raj Kundra’s alleged porn racket, the actress replied that ‘the videos on HotShots are not porn, but erotic content’. Shilpa further added that ‘there are many contents like this on other OTT platforms which are way more obscene’.
Sources further revealed that Shilpa Shetty Kundra told the police that she had no role in making those videos which the Crime Branch is labelling to be ‘pornographic videos’.
Shilpa Shetty Kundra has been the director of Viaan Industries till 2020. Reportedly, the money received from this alleged racket used to go this industry.
Meanwhile, Raj Kundra has revealed that his brother-in-law Pradeep Bakshi used to run everything from London and that he used to talk only on WhatsApp. However, the police said that they have many pieces of evidence against Kundra which makes it clear that he knew everything and used to deal with everything. Reportedly, the investigating team further revealed that his brother-in-law owns a company in London with the same name.
Mumbai Police has also reportedly revealed that they have not found any direct link of Shilpa Shetty in relation to the ongoing case.
