Mumbai: Businessman Raj Kundra got arrested by the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police on July 19. Kundra has been alleged for producing pornographic films. The news of his arrest has several tongues wagging and has now become the talk of the town.
Now, according to the latest update, ‘Gandi Baat’ actress Gehana Vasisth revealed that Raj Kundra was supposedly planning on launching his sister-in-law Shamita Shetty on his new app. Gehana Vasisth also got arrested last year by the Property Cell of the Crime Branch for her alleged role in shooting and uploading porn videos on a website.
The actress told Navbharat Times during an interaction, “Just a few days before his arrest, I went to his office. There, I got to know that he is planning to launch an app called Bollyfame. He was planning to do chat shows, reality shows, music videos and feature films for the app. There was no plan to involve 'bold scenes' in these films.”
Gehana added that she was supposed to direct a film and said, “We also discussed the scripts. Then we thought about casting Shamita Shetty for one script, Sai Tamhankar and two other artists for another. I was supposed to direct these films and was thinking about it just a few days before his arrest.”
Also, when Raj Kundra got arrested, the actress released a statement that read, “The law will take its course. We have full faith in the Mumbai police, but they should not mix up porn with erotica or bold content. We have always said that the Mumbai police are the best force in the world. The courts will eventually decide during trial as to who are the real culprits and which of the arrested accused were merely used by others. We don't want to comment anymore, as Gehana is on bail in the same case and she does not want to prejudice or impair her right to her personal defence. However, police should investigate fully as there are many more skeletons in the cupboards of the rich and famous.”
Raj Kundra is the husband of Bollywood diva Shilpa Shetty and the brother-in-law of Shamita Shetty. He has been accused of making pornographic content and publishing them through mobile applications. Earlier today, Kundra has been spotted leaving Byculla Jail with the police as the cops took him to the court. Reportedly, the police will seek more days of Raj Kundra’s custody in court for further investigation.
