New Delhi: ‘Ponniyin Selvan 1’, the ambitious project directed by Mani Ratnam has been enjoying a lot of success at the box office. The movie made Rs 27.5 crore in India on Tuesday, which was the fifth day of its release. This is mostly due to the fact that it was released around the Dussehra vacations.

Friday brought in Rs 38.50 crore, Saturday brought in Rs 35.50 crore, Sunday brought in Rs 39 crore, Monday brought in Rs 25 crore, and Tuesday brought in Rs 27.50 crore, bringing the total amount collected in India to Rs 165.5 crore.
