New Delhi: Abrar ul Haq, a renowned Pakistani musician, has taken to his social media platforms in order to criticise Karan Johar and Dharma Movies for allegedly taking his song without his consent.

On Sunday, Dharma Productions released the trailer for their next film, Jugjugg Jeeyo. The trailer had a number of highlights, one of which being the celebrity cast dancing to the well-known Punjabi song ‘Nach Punjaban’.

According to Nach Punjaban's original crooner Abrar Ul Haq, this is his sixth song to be used in an Indian film, and he has no intention of selling the song to anybody else. Abrar tweeted, “I have not sold my song “ Nach Punjaban” to any Indian movie and reserve the rights to go to court to claim damages. Producers like @karanjohar should not use copy songs. This is my 6th song being copied which will not be allowed at all.”

Fans were understandably outraged, and many didn't hold back while venting their frustrations on social media. In addition, other people urged Abrar Ul Haq to take action against the filmmakers immediately. Here are some of the tweets:

Neither Karan Johar nor anybody else from the Jug Jug Jeeyo crew has issued any formal remarks on the tweet.

Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios collaborated on the film's direction by Raj Mehta. Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Manish Paul, and Prajakta Koli are among the cast members of the movie.
