Sushmita, who is portraying Shreegauri Sawant in the series, shared what the transgender activist said to her after watching the series.
In a conversation with News 18, Sushmita Sen said that Shreeguri gave her a gift after watching her performance. “She (Shreegauri Sawant) came to me, blessed me, kissed my forehead, and gave me a gift. She told me, ‘I don’t want to watch. Yeh jo kar rahi hai, sahi kar rahi hai. Yeh meri marble chi murti hai (Whatever she is doing, she's doing fine. She is like my marble statue',” she told News 18.
Sushmita also spoke about her bonding with Shreegauri and said that she finds her very inspirational, and the series is a homage to the transgender activist’s life and her battles.
“If I’m sick, she’s the first person to come with a blessing. If I need something, she’ll make it her business to make that happen. She has love like that. That’s love in action, and that’s who she is. I find her very inspirational,” News 18 was quoted as saying.
