New Delhi: Sunny Deol expressed his joy as a father-in-law during his recent appearance on the latest episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix India. He shared how his daughter-in-law, Drishi Acharya, has brought prosperity to the entire family in their professional endeavors.

Sunny Deol talks about struggling

Talking about struggling for years after doing successful films during his career, Sunny Deol said, "There have been many years, so many events have unfolded. We've all worked on various fronts. Various things were happening. We were putting in our best efforts. It wasn't that we weren't trying. I was involved in many things, so was Bobby (Deol), and even Papa (veteran actor Dharmendra). However, all of a sudden, with my son's marriage, and the arrival of a daughter at our home, the atmosphere completely changed."

Sunny Deol's elder son, Karan Deol, whom he introduced as an actor in his 2019 directorial film 'Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas,' recently married Drishti Acharya, his childhood friend employed in the travel industry. Their wedding in June marked the beginning of a series of positive developments for the Deol family throughout the remainder of the year.

Sunny Deol on recent successes of the family

Talking about recent successes that the Deol family has witnessed, Sunny said, "Since the 1960s, Papa has been here, and we've been in the same limelight. We've seen so many things, arriving and departing in their own time. But the current unfolding of events, along with past occurrences, and the love we're receiving from people…. People have always loved us. We get a lot of love, Papa is loved a lot. And that's why Bobby and I receive a lot of love. But, somehow we were perplexed why things aren't falling into place. But then, the beti (daughter) came home. Then Gadar came. Papa's film had released before that. And after that, Animal came. All records were broken."

2023 the year of Deols

The year 2023 marked a significant period for the Deol family. Dharmendra garnered praise for his portrayal of a romantic character in Karan Johar's blockbuster "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani." This was followed by Sunny's impactful return with "Gadar 2," which revitalized the single-screen cinema experience. Bobby rounded off the year with his memorable performance as a villain in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's hit film "Animal." However, the debut of Sunny's younger son, Rajvir Deol, in Avnish Barjatya's "Dono," unfortunately did not resonate with audiences and fell short at the box office.
