New Delhi: Prime Video has announced the worldwide premiere date for its highly anticipated original film, ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’, on World Radio Day. Directed by Kannan Iyer and written by Darab Farooqui and Iyer, the historical thriller-drama is set to debut this March. Starring Sara Ali Khan in the lead role, alongside Sachin Khedekar, Abhay Verma, Sparsh Shrivastav, Alexx O'Neil, Anand Tiwari, the film features a special guest appearance of Emraan Hashmi.
‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ revolves around an underground radio station led by a courageous young girl, portrayed by Sara Ali Khan. Inspired by real-life events and paying tribute to freedom fighter Usha Mehta, it encapsulates the bravery, patriotism, sacrifice, and persistence of Indian youth during the freedom movement.
Producer Karan Johar praised the film's rich storytelling and Sara Ali Khan's portrayal, highlighting the profound connection between radio and India's freedom movement. He also noted the auspiciousness of the film's premiere announcement coinciding with World Radio Day.
Karan took to social media to announce the release date along with the motion poster. He wrote, "Hindustan mein kahi se laaye hai aap ke liye ek zaroori samachar #WorldRadioDay pe."

About ‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’
During the Quit India Movement of 1942, Usha Mehta (played by Sara Ali Khan) was a major figure at Congress Radio, which was operational for a short period of time. In 1998, Mehta received the Padma Vibhushan.
‘Ae Watan Mere Watan’ promises to be a compelling cinematic experience that celebrates courage, sacrifice, resilience, and unwavering devotion to one's country. The film will premiere on Prime Video on March 21st.
