New Delhi: Priyanka Chopra Jonas, a renowned actor-producer, unveiled "Women of My Billion", an upcoming documentary highlighting the compelling journey of a woman traversing from Kanyakumari to Kashmir to meet survivors of violence.


Under her banner Purple Pebble Pictures, Priyanka has taken on the role of producer for the film, slated for release on Prime Video following its theatrical premiere. Directed by Ajitesh Sharma, the documentary promises to deliver a poignant narrative.


Expressing her gratitude towards Prime Video at the Prime Video Presents event, Priyanka emphasized the platform's unwavering support for her projects over the past four years. She introduced the film's director and cast, acknowledging the platform's commitment to showcasing meaningful content.


"Women of My Billion" (WOMB) centers around Srishti Bakshi, a UN Women Champion of Change, undertaking a monumental journey spanning 3,800 km over 240 days. From Kanyakumari to Kashmir, Bakshi engages with women across India, offering a firsthand account of their diverse experiences.


 






Additionally, the documentary shines a spotlight on Pragya Prasun, dedicated to rehabilitating women impacted by various forms of violence, as highlighted by Priyanka.


The 'Citadel' actress underscored Purple Pebble Pictures' mission to serve as a platform for filmmakers passionate about storytelling. The production company aims to foster creativity and amplify diverse narratives.


"Women of My Billion" is a collaborative effort between Awedacious Originals and Purple Pebble Pictures, with Apoorva Bakshi and Priyanka Chopra serving as producers.


The documentary not only sheds light on the resilience of women but also underscores the importance of empathy, understanding, and empowerment in addressing societal challenges. Through compelling storytelling and impactful visuals, "Women of My Billion" seeks to inspire audiences and spark conversations on critical issues facing women in India.
