New Delhi: Popular series Panchayat from Amazon Prime Video dropped on Saturday, revealing the first glimpse of the programme on social media. The lead actor Jitendra Kumar, who plays the Panchayat Secretary, is shown in the first image riding a motorbike with bags strapped on his back. It's still unclear if this means he's leaving the Phulera village. The release date of the series has not yet been announced by the creators.
The next image in the post features other characters from the programme, including Banrakas, Vinod, and Madhav, played by Durgesh Kumar, Ashok Pathak, and Bulloo Kumar, respectively. The words "Thokar lagti hai to dard hota hai, tabhi manushya seekh pata hai" (Failures could hurt you, but you learn from your failures) are written on a wall behind them as they sit on a bench.
The photos were shared on the official Instagram account of Prime Video with the caption, “We know the wait is unbearable, so we got you a lil something from the sets! #PanchayatOnPrime Season 3.”
In November, Neena Gupta—who plays Manju Devi—posted a video from the series' wrap-up party. In the video, she was seen with her on-screen spouse, veteran actor Raghubir Yadav. "Wrap up of the third season of Panchayat," Neena wrote as the caption for the photo.
At the 54th International Film Festival of India, TVF's Panchayat Season 2 won the Best Web Series (OTT) Award (IFFI). Panchayat 2 emerged victorious in this category, which got introduced for the first time, this year.
The story revolves around an engineering graduate who, because of a lack of employment options, is forced to work as a panchayat secretary in the fictional village of Phulera, Uttar Pradesh. The first season of the show debuted to great acclaim on Prime Video in April 2020, amidst the Covid lockdown.
