New Delhi: The comedy-drama 'OMG 2', starring Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi in the lead roles, was released in August this year and was met with positive reviews. The Amit Rai-directed film was also a resounding success at the box office. ‘OMG 2’ was released along with Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’, both of which crossed the budget of 100 crores and were massive hits worldwide. After its successful run on the big screen, ‘OMG 2’ is now ready to release on the OTT platform, Netflix on Sunday, October 8. This means that viewers will be able to watch the film at home after two months of theatrical release.

The OTT platform Netflix announced the release date of ‘OMG 2’ and shared the poster of the film with a caption reading, "We've got some exciting news for you. Can you believe we're excited for the release of OMG2 on Netflix on October 8?"

Amit Rai's ‘OMG 2’ is a continuation of his 2012 film ‘Oh My God!. The film explores the issue of sex education in India.

The director earlier recently spoke about how the streaming site is not yet prepared to display the uncensored version of the film.

In an interview with news agency PTI, director Amit Rai said, "We were heartbroken because we made the film for everyone to watch; now that cannot happen. We begged them to give us a U/A certificate (children below 12 years of age can watch a film under parental guidance), but they didn't. We tried to convince them till the very end. But then they walked some distance, and the film has been released with modifications."

On the professional work front, Akshay Kumar will be seen in the biographical drama ‘Mission Raniganj’, co-starring Parineeti Chopra. The film is set to release on October 6.
