Maidaan OTT Release: Ajay Devgn's latest film, "Maidaan," which portrays the life of legendary Indian football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, has made its debut on a digital platform. For those who missed the opportunity to watch it in theaters, they can now enjoy it on OTT.
When and where to watch
The sports drama, released in April this year, is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The film released on the OTT platform on Wednesday, June 5 and is available for users with subsciption for Prime Video.
The streaming platform shared the news on its social media accounts, describing the film as "ground maidaan breaking story of India’s finest hour in football."
About Maidaan
In addition to Ajay Devgn, Maidaan features Priyamani, who portrays the role of Rahim's wife in the film. Alongside Ajay and Priyamani, Gajraj Rao and Rudranil Ghosh also deliver significant performances. Produced by Boney Kapoor in collaboration with Zee Studios, this biopic credits Oscar-winner AR Rahman for its entire music score. Notably, Richa Sharma made a splendid comeback to playback singing with the superhit song "Mirzaa."
Despite boasting cinematic excellence deserving of a wide audience, Maidaan faced challenges at the box office due to clashes and an abundance of simultaneous releases.

ABP Live review of the film by Priya Hazra reads as, "‘Maidaan’ stands apart from other sports movies like ‘83’ or ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ by keeping away from prosthetics and detailed life stories. Instead, it delves more into Rahim and his team's fierce fight against the system and the obstacles thrown their way. In a scene, we see the players try hard to defend a goal on the field which mirrors the intensity of their struggles off the field."
