New Delhi: The third installment of the Lust Stories anthology series on Netflix, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, will have two of India's most accomplished actresses, Konkona Sensharma and Radhika Apte, sharing the screen. The two actors, who are renowned for their nuanced and sensitive acting, will reportedly feature in Motwane's segment, which will delve deeply into themes of desire, relationships and social conventions.
According to Mid-Day, Konkona Sensharma and Radhika Apte will be appearing in Motwane's portion in the third episode of Lust Stories, an anthology series on Netflix.
“This is a casting coup. Radhika and Konkona have long admired each other’s work. With Vikram at the helm of a fantastic script, this felt like the perfect opportunity for them to come together,” a source informed Mid-Day reporters.
A captivating episode directed by Anurag Kashyap featured Apte in the first season of 'Lust Stories (2018)', and her performance garnered ample praise. On the other hand, Sensharma directed the critically acclaimed and commercially successful 'Lust Stories 2 (2023)', which featured Tillotama Shome and Amruta Subhash.
According to another report, the next anthology would also include filmmaker Abhishek Banerjee, who is known for his role in 'Stree'. A source shared, “Abhishek is a new entrant to this universe. The shoot will commence soon.”
More About 'Lust Stories'
The short films in the 'Lust Stories' collection are about intimacy, relationships, and love. Various filmmakers with distinct narrative techniques collaborate on the series. Featuring Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap, and Dibakar Banerjee, the first installment was released in 2018. Amit Sharma, Sujoy Ghosh, Konkona Sensharma, and R Balki were featured in the second installment, which was released in 2023.
'Lust Stories 3' is now under development, with filming anticipated to start this year. Although the cast has not yet been officially revealed, numerous well-known Bollywood actors are set to appear in this installment.
