New Delhi: Netflix’s new thriller series 'Kohrra', starring Barun Sobti and Suvinder Vicky, is getting rave reviews from all quarters. The slow-burn murder mystery is being loved by the audience and the critics. Filmmakers like Karan Johar and Hansal Mehta have also praised the series and have posted their reviews about the show on social media.

Karan Johar shared a poster of Kohrra on Instagram and wrote, “Sometimes the fog never lifts and leaves everything gloomy and even dark… much like the human personality … #Kohrrra the latest @netflix_in drop is arguably the best series I have seen since #trialbyfire ( both directed by the brilliant breakthrough filmmaker @randeepjha ) what starts off as a murder procedural goes onto scratch the surface of parental patriarchy and entitlement, the psychology of a disturbed childhood, a woman’s right to passion and compassion and dealing with your inner demons….”

He continued, “This brilliantly written show is a master class in character development and the balance of that with intrigue … a tightrope that #sudipsharma #gunjitchopra #diggisissodia walk without a false note … brilliance … I was blown away by the performances @suvindervicky is and will be the revelation of 2023 across film and streaming … his silences can launch a million scripts ! @barunsobti_says is outstanding …. Shuttling between machismo and vulnerability he nails the part with veteran ease…. The ensemble @itsharleensethi @chaudhari_manish @badolavarun #rachelshelley are pitch perfect and so good! This authentic heartbreaking and yet emotionally thrilling digital masterpiece needs all your time and attention ! My congratulations to @kans26 @officialcsfilms for creating such brilliant content and to the entire family at @netflix_in for raising the bar…. Watch #kohrra and absorb its silent noise….”

'Scoop' director Hansal Mehta also took to Twitter to review the series. He wrote, “Pet themes from Paatal Lok and Udta Punjab show up in different ways in the quite spectacular Kohrra on @NetflixIndia. Cop buddies, drugs, crime and so many fucked up people inhabit a haunting world set somewhere in Punjab. Some terrific performances by @Suvinder_Vicky and @BarunSobtiSays. In fact most of the ensemble is so well cast and does really well. Well written, excellently directed and unabashedly authentic this is Indian storytelling at its best. Kudos Sudip Sharma, Gunjit, Diggy and Randeep Jha. Terrific work on editing and sound design. The moody yet unobtrusive cinematography is more than effective. Terrific work guys. Take a bow. #KohrraOnNetflix”.

Kohrra, set in the heartland of Punjab, takes the audiences on a thrilling journey through the intertwined lives of dysfunctional families and the depths of a crime investigation. The cast also includes Harleen Sethi, Varun Badola, Rachel Shelley, and Manish Chaudhary.

The series is directed by Randeep Jha and Sudip Sharma is the showrunner of the series.
