‘Panchayat Season 3’ is also being loved by the audience like its predecessors and since its release, there were speculations about Jitendra Kumar being the highest-paid actor in the series, earning Rs 70,000 per episode. A recent report claimed that Jitendra earned Rs 5.6 lakh for the third season of 'Panchayat’. The actor has now reacted to the rumours.
Jitendra Kumar on being highest paid actor of the series
In a conversation with Hindustan Times, the actor called such discussions inappropriate. “Well, I think discussing somebody’s salary and financial matters is really unfair. Nothing good comes out of the discussion, and it’s not even fruitful. So, I think one should avoid falling for any such rumours, they should not be a thing,” he was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
Jitendra Kumar is followed by Neena Gupta who reportedly earned Rs 50,000 per episode.
The show directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and written by Chandan Kumar, revolves around Abhishek Tripathi (played by Jitendra), who has taken a job in the Panchayat office of a village named Phulera. The series highlights his struggles to adapt while shedding light on village life and its issues.
On Panchayat Season 3
Talking about the third season, Jitendra told Hindustan Times, “When I read the script for the third season, it seemed really interesting to me…. And it wasn’t like the makers were trying too hard to do something different. They are telling new stories and interesting situations in the same space. I was very excited about it… And revisited the character with more energy and without any pressure. In the end, what works is the good script, and we rely on that.”
On the popularity of Panchayat
Earlier in a conversation with ABP Ent Live when the actor was asked if he ever anticipated the immense popularity of ‘Panchayat,’ Jitendra responded, "You can never be sure of the kind of response you'll get, and you can't predict it. I believe the only predictability lies in whether the show is being made well and whether some people will like it or not. While we were making it, I wondered who would click on the trailer or watch the episodes. However, I had faith in the script and was confident that anyone who watched the first episode would enjoy it. But receiving so much love was truly unexpected."
The third season, also featuring Neena Gupta, Durgesh, Raghubir Yadav, and Faisal Malik, premiered on May 28.
