New Delhi: OTT platform Prime Video is bringing a treat for movie lovers across India with the premiere of global blockbuster, ‘Barbie’. The movie caused a phenomenon known as Barbenheimer when it was released on July 21 with Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer. Launching within a few weeks of its theatrical release, the movie is available to rent on Prime Video at INR 499. In addition to ‘Barbie’, Prime Video Store offers customers the opportunity to rent and watch a vast selection of movies from around the world.

‘Barbie’ is a story about Barbies in the Barbieland, one of which is a stereotypical Barbie, played by Margot Robbie. When her so-called perfect days suddenly crumble down, she starts experiencing an existential crisis and starts to think of death out of the blue. In order to comprehend herself and learn her actual purpose, she must journey to the human world. Ken, played by Ryan Gosling, her kinda-sorta lover, joins along for the voyage.

Directed by Greta Gerwig and written along with Noah Baumbach, ‘Barbie’ became a cultural phenomenon upon release and one of the biggest box-office successes of the year.

The ABPLive review of the movie read: "The Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling film uses the age-old concept of two worlds viz. Barbie World and the Real World exist in two different planes where neither is much aware that the other also exists."

‘Barbie’ is now available to rent on Prime Video.

An expansion of Prime Video’s entertainment marketplace offering, movie rentals allow Prime members, as well as, anyone who is not yet a Prime member, early access to the latest Indian and Hollywood movies, along with a rich catalogue of popular movies from around the world.
