New Delhi: As the Oscars night ended with happiness and tears, the event that became the highlight of the evening was Will Smith’s slap at Chris Rock for making a joke on his wife Jada Pinkett. 


During the presentation of a joke, Rock made a joke on Pinkett referring to her tightly cropped hair saying he could be in the sequel of “G.I. Jane”. The joke did not receive a light reaction from Pinkett as she felt uncomfortable about her alopecia.


What happened next was that Will Smith stood from his table, walked up to the stage, and slapped Chris Rock. While Rock and the entire audience were left in shock, Smith walked back to his table and told Rock in expletive language saying, “Keep my wife's name out of your f****** (expletive) mouth.”


In a few moments of the incident, the video of the incident went viral on social media with speculations whether the whole scene was scripted or not. 


Now, as the Twitterati is divided on the morality of what happened, meme creators have found an opportunity to crack some bones here.


A Twitter user even went on to take a screenshot of the moment of slap and used it to represent Chris Rock as the weekend fun and Will Smith as Monday. 






Another Twitter user posted a screenshot of Will Smith’s ‘Men In Black’ with the memory-erasing device saying “Everyone in the crowd 20 seconds after Will Smith hit Chris Rock and congratulated him on his award.”


The meme referred to the fact that minutes after the slap, Smith won the Best Actor award where he was congratulated by everyone in the crowd.






Another meme roped in Spiderman actors Zendaya and Andrew Garfield with screenshots of them scrolling their phones implying that the celebrities are scrolling Twitter to know if it actually happened and what is the audience reaction.






Another meme showed Zendaya on her phone implying that she was texting Tom Holland telling about the incident as the actor was absent from the awards function.


“Babe Will Smith just slapped Chris Rock and then won the best actor lmao it’s like some multiverse of madness level shit lol. Wish you were here,” the meme read.






A Twitter user used the famous show ‘How I Met Your Mother’ screenshot of the character Barney being slapped by Marshall and replaced Marshall with Will Smith while everyone in the background was shocked just like the Oscars audience. 






Though Smith apologised for his reaction during his award acceptance speech, meme content has already been built for users.
