Youn Yuh-jung has made Oscar history as she becomes the first Korean and the second Asian to take home an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress at the 93rd Academy Awards. Joining her in the history-making category was Chloe Zhao who made history at the 93rd Academy Awards as the first woman of colour to win the Oscar for Best Director for Nomadland.
She is only the second woman in the history of the Academy Awards to win this particular laurel.
After winning the award, Zhao said, "This is for anyone who has the faith and the courage to hold on to the goodness in themselves and to hold on to the goodness in each other."
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the biggest night in Hollywood is held across two venues in Hollywood - the Dolby Theatre and downtown Los Angeles' historic Union Station.

'Mank' leads the nominations this year after being nominated for 10 accolades while 'The Father', 'Judas and the Black Messiah', 'Minari', 'Nomadland', 'Sound of Metal' and 'The Trial of Chicago 7' have been nominated in six categories.
