New Delhi: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is currently gearing-up for the release of his upcoming film 'Samrat Prithviraj'. The 'Khiladi' actor is busy promoting the film that marks the acting debut of former Miss World Manushi Chillar.
In an interview with ANI, as a part of the film's promotions, Akshay touched on various topics, from missing out on his Cannes opportunity to talking about the valour of Indian kings and how it is important to know about them.
Akshay Kumar was supposed to walk the Red Carpet on the opening day of the Cannes Film Festival 2022, but missed the opportunity after he tested positive for COVID-19.
Akshay, who plays the role of Indian ruler Prithviraj Chauhan, who was known for his bravery and intellect, is leaving no stones unturned to make more people aware of the legendary ruler. In a video clip of the interview, shared by ANI on its official twitter handle, Akshay can be seen talking about the importance of teaching children in schools and colleges about the brave Indian kings and rulers, along with teaching them about Mughal rulers.
On being asked the resaon behind lack of people's knowledge about Indian rulers, Akshay says, "Nobody is there to write about it in our history books. I would like to appeal to the Education Minister to look into this matter and see if we can balance it. We should know about Mughals but know about our kings also, they were great too."

Akshay then went on to talk about the role of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in contributing towards making Indian cinema's name big in the international arena.
Produced by Yash Raj Films, 'Samrat Prithviraj' will hit theatres on June 3.
On the work front, Akshay has quite a busy year ahead with 'Ram Setu' and 'Selfiee' in the pipeline.
