Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s wife Aaliya Siddiqui is all set to make her debut as a producer with the film ‘Holy Cow’. Aaliya has landed in legal trouble even before the release of her maiden production venture.

A complaint had been filed against her by Manju Garhwal, creative and co-producer of ‘Holy Cow’, for pending dues and mental agony, and harassment. Manju has alleged that Aaliya has not returned her Rs 31 lakh which Manju invested in the film.

Speaking to ETimes, Manju said, “Aaliya and I have been friends since 2005 and she wanted to be a producer for a really long time. When things finally shaped up, she told me to take charge of the creative side while she decided to manage the finances. I roped in actors and cast for the project, but the money paid to them through cheques soon started bouncing.”

She told ETimes that her father also invested money in the project after Aaliya promised to return the money in a month.

“My father was selling off his home in Ujjain and Aaliya was aware of the deal. Since she needed finances, she convinced my father to give her the money from the property sale and she would return the same in a month’s time. However, that didn’t happen,” Manju was quoted as saying by ETimes.

Aaliya allegedly refused to credit Manju as the creative and co-producer for 'Holy Cow' after their fallout.

Manju stated that Aaliya has provided a medical report seeking time to respond to the police complaint but she wants her money and credit for the film before the film releases in August.

Directed by Sai Kabir, ‘Holy Cow’ stars Sanjay Mishra and Tigmanshu Dhulia in lead roles. The film also has a cameo by Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
