New Delhi: The second season of Netflix's 'Indian Matchmaking' has created quite a buzz with how the whole Nadia-Shekhar storyline has taken a turn. The reality TV series premiered on Netflix last week. If audiences recall, in the first season, Nadia and Shekhar were seen going on a date in Chicago, and that's how the season ended. However, things are rather different in the second season of 'Indian Matchmaking'.

Shekhar has visited Nadia's family, been to her place, and impressed them. However, a little later, Nadia hit it off and made out with another single Vishal during a party she threw for matchmaker Sima Taparia. As Shekhar sees Nadia and Vishal kiss, he communicates his hurt feelings over a FaceTime call to Nadia.

Now, in an interview with Urban Asian, Nadia has clarified the whole sequence stating that she and Shekhar were not dating and she did what any single woman in her 30s would do after getting along with a 'cute guy'. Nadia also shared that it was 'unfortunate' that the 'show edited it to like' she broke Shekhar's heart. "It was hurtful that people would think that I would kiss another guy in front of the guy they thought I was with,” she said.

Nadia has expressed how the criticism that is being thrown at her has hurt her. Nadia also asserted that in the show, Shekhar hadn't taken an initiative or expressed a desire to take their relationship to the next level.

Talking about the entire scenario which caused the criticism to happen in the first place, Nadia told the publication,“At the mixer, I obviously invited all my friends, and you get to meet the new cast members. It was just a really fun way to bring everyone together. I remember when Vishal walked in, I was like, ‘Oh my goodness, who is this guy? He’s cute’. At the end of the night, we kissed. Shekhar and I were never together at any point in the two-and-a-half years we’ve known each other. And so, I did what any single girl in her 30s would do. I saw a cute guy and we hit it off, and that was it. If feelings were hurt, it was never communicated to me until very much later. I’m just living my life.”

'Indian Matchmaking'  is currently running its second season on Netflix. The streaming giant renewed the third season of the show for in March 2022.
