New Delhi: Music maestro A.R. Rahman is one of the most respected artists in the country and has been ruling the hearts of the listeners with his beautiful compositions. He is not only popular in India but is also the recipient of several international awards including the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score, the BAFTA Award for Best Film Music, Academy Award and others.
Though Rahman prefers to keep his private life away from the limelight, on the special occasion of his eldest daughter Khatija Rahman’s engagement, the music genius shared the news on his Instagram story.

A.R. Rahman’s daughter also shared the happy news with her fans on Instagram and revealed that she has got engaged to Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed. She penned down a note that read, “With the blessings of the Almighty I’m happy to announce to you all my engagement with Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed @riyasdeenriyan, an aspiring entrepreneur and a wizkid audio engineer. The engagement happened on 29th December, my birthday in the presence of close family and loved ones.”
Riyasdeen Shaik Mohamed is an aspiring entrepreneur and an audio engineer by profession. Khatija, on the other hand, is a playback singer and is the voice behind songs like ‘Farishton’, ‘Pudhiya Manidha’ and others. She has also given her voice to a number of Tamil songs.
A.R. Rahman is married to Saira Banu and have three children together – two daughters Khatija and Rahima, and a son named Ameen.
