At the launch of the film, transgender activist Laxmi Narayan Tripathi who is now gearing up for her debut as an actor in 'Upeksha' spoke about how the term 'Hijra' has been used as a curse, a slur by society.... and she has been subjected to it too.

'Upeksha' is based on the struggle of eunuchs in the society, their daily problems, the stereotypes they have to face every day and their views on basic rights. Apart from Laxmi, the always-ready-to-jump-into-a-controversy- Rakhi Sawant is also acting in the film.
