'War' has become the biggest box office opener to date. The film has surpassed the first-day collections of Aamir Khan's 'Thugs of Hindostan' to touch this feat.
Bollywood trade analyst and critic Taran Adarsh shared 'War' first day box office collection on Twitter."#War creates H-I-S-T-O-R-Y... Sets new benchmarks for #Hindi films... Big holiday [#GandhiJayanti] + unprecedented hype results in mind boggling *Day 1* total... Crosses the previous best - #ThugsOfHindostan - by a margin, despite lower screen count," Adarsh wrote on the micro-blogging site.
Take a look at his post below:
Trade pundits were expecting 'War' to do well and the film didn’t disappoint them at all. The film has received a great response from the audience who have given thumbs up to Hrithik as well as Tiger. 'Gandhi Jayanti' holiday boosted the collections on first day and the film is expected to each well on second days of its release as well.
On a related note, 'War' is the first film ever to be shot in the Arctic Circle. Produced by Aditya Chopra's 'Yash Raj Film', 'War' is high on its budget as it has been shot in seven countries and 15 cities across the globe.
