This morning, the nation woke up to the shocking news of Bollywood music composer Wajid Khan's death. The singer-composer of the popular musician duo Sajid-Wajid passed away on Monday (June 1) at a Mumbai hospital due to COVID-19 complications, he was 42.


Khan, was also suffering from kidney ailments and had undergone a kidney transplant a few months ago.

The Bollywood fraternity was left shocked after Wajid Khan’s demise and several celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra and others took to social media to express their grief and offer condolences to the bereaved family.


















Mourning his death, music composer Salim Merchant while speaking to ABP News said that Wajid was hospitalised few days ago at Surana Hospital, Chembur where his condition deteriorated.

"He had multiple issues. He had a kidney issue and had a transplant a while ago. But recently he got to know about kidney infection... He was on the ventilator for the last four days, after his situation started getting worse. Kidney infection was the beginning and then he got critical," Salim told ABP News.

Sajid-Wajid recently composed songs for Bollywood superstar Salman Khan during the ongoing lockdown, one of which was a number titled "Pyaar karona", a pop anthem encouraging all to fight the coronavirus. The song released in April was sung by Salman and also featured the actor in the video.

The composer duo also recently composed Salman's Eid special song, "Bhai bhai", which talks of communal harmony.
