New Delhi: Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff are busy promoting their upcoming film ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’. Their recent promotional event in Lucknow turned chaotic, forcing security personnel to intervene.
The actors arrived at the Clock Tower in Husainabad, greeted by a massive crowd of cheering fans. Videos shared online show Kumar and Shroff entering the venue suspended on wires, further intensifying the excitement. Kumar even addressed the crowd with an "Eid Mubarak" greeting.
However, the situation spiraled out of control as the actors began throwing promotional merchandise into the audience. The crowd surged towards the stage in an attempt to grab the freebies, prompting police to intervene with batons (lathi-charge) to restore order. The situation became chaotic and people began hurling objects at each other, including slippers and stones.
One video captures Kumar pleading with the crowd to maintain composure, saying, "I request you with folded hands, please be careful. We have come here to meet you, to talk to you. Please be careful, there are ladies and children too. I request you all to be careful."
Before the event, Akshay Kumar announced about his Lucknow visit on Instagram by posting a picture with Tiger Shroff. In the photo, the two are seated on the runway of an airport. Akshay wrote, “Pehle aap muskuraiye, kyunki Bade aur Chote ab Lucknow mein hain! Milte hain, aaj dopahar, Clock Tower Maidan mein.”
Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' is scheduled for release on Eid 2024. The film boasts a star-studded cast, including Prithviraj Sukumaran as the antagonist, alongside Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar, and Alaya F.
