New Delhi: Bhupesh Kumar Pandya, who was undergoing treatment for his Stage 4 lung cancer, left for his heavenly abode on Wednesday (September 23). He underwent supportive care, palliative chemotherapy and palliative RT at a hospital in Ahmedabad. After a long battle with cancer, the actor breathed his last today. He was an alumnus of The National School of Drama (batch 2001). He has worked in popular films like ‘Vicky Donor’ and ‘Hazaron Khwahishein Aisi’.

Taking to their official handle, National School of Drama (NSD) played a heartfelt tribute to their alumnus. They shared a picture of the actor and wrote, ‘The news of Bhupesh Kumar Pandya’s (alumnus NSD 2001 batch) death is extremely sad. The NSD family pays a heartfelt tribute. God bless the departed soul.’

Their original tweet read, “विख्यात रंगकर्मी भूपेश कुमार पांड्या ( पूर्व छात्र एनएसडी 2001  बैच ) के  आकस्मिक  निधन  की खबर बेहद  दुखद  है  एनएसडी  परिवार भावभीनी श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करता है । ईश्वर दिवंगत आत्मा को शांति प्रदान करे।#NSDfamily @nirupamakotru @MinOfCultureGoI”



Manoj Bajpayee took to his social media and mourned the death of the actor. The ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’ actor prayed for the peace of the departed soul. He wrote, “भगवान Bhupesh Pandya की आत्मा को शांति प्रदान करें!!!”



To which, the ‘Badhaai Ho’ actor Gajraj Rao responded with folded hand emojis and ‘Dil Bechara’ director Mukesh Chhabra responded with a sad-face emoji.

Earlier, Manoj Bajpayee requested his followers to step forward and help out his colleague and actor Bhupesh Pandya when one of the latter’s friends started a fundraiser for the late actor. The ‘Sonchiriya’ actor took to his Twitter and wrote, “Request all of you to step forward help out colleague Actor Bhupesh A Nsd graduate !!”



The website shows that Gajraj Rao has donated Rs 25000, Sikhya Entertainment donated Rs 2 lakhs and Tahira Kashyap donated Rs 5 lakhs.

The late actor’s wife, while talking to Times Of India, had said, “Unfortunately, this is true, and my husband is suffering from stage IV cancer. He has undergone supportive care, palliative chemotherapy and palliative RT at Apollo Hospital of Ahmedabad.”
