New Delhi: Box office receipts for ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, have topped 100 crore nett in India. With director Luv Ranjan, the offbeat romantic comedy reached the milestone in only 11 days after its debut.
TJMM has now exceeded the hundred million mark, making it India's second 100-crore film of 2023 after SRK’s Pathaan. It's already a remarkable effort, but the fact that the romantic comedy pulled it all in only 11 days is phenomenal.
Luv Films shared the total collection of the movie on their official account. Check out:
This romantic comedy is clearly going to become one of the biggest grossing films for Ranbir Kapoor. Audiences are responding positively to the film since they haven't had a good romantic comedy option in Hindi for quite some time. The songs are also very successful and have contributed significantly to the movie's box office success.
There are four new movies out this week that might steal box office revenue from Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar: Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway, Zwigato, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, and Kabzaa.
The review of the film on ABP Live reads: "The catharsis in this three act film is well-worth a watch and for that reason 'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar' can be seen as a family entertainer despite its many problems and pseudo-feminism. There is an end-credits sequence where for some 4 minutes, even as critics you're hooked to what's happening on screen- an ideal life story plays out- an in-laws family and the most loving partner in the world doing everything to make their daughter-in-law feel at home and everyone is supremely happy."
Besides Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, 'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar' also stars Anubhav Singh Bassi, Dimple Kapadia, and Boney Kapoor.
