New Delhi: Yash Raj Films piqued everyone’s interest by posting about ‘YRF’s singing sensation’ Bhajan Kumar on Tuesday. Now the secret is out! Bhajan Kumar is none other than Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal, who is playing the role of a local singing star by the name of Bhajan Kumar in the upcoming film ‘The Great Indian Family.’ While revealing Vicky as Bhajan Kumar today, YRF also launched the first song of the film called Kanhaiya Twitter Pe Aaja which is Vicky’s big entry song in the film. 


The song shows Vicky Kaushal dancing while singing about the greatness of Lord Krishna. Vicky is dressed in a shiny avatar and is sporting a choti. Composed by Pritam, the track has been sung by Nakash Aziz and Amitabh Bhattacharya has penned the lyrics. 



Talking about his character in the film, Vicky Kaushal said, “I play a singing star named Bhajan Kumar in our quirky family entertainer The Great Indian Family and we decided to have some fun before we actually revealed the fact that I was playing this character in the film!” 


He added, “As an actor, I love to bring smiles to the faces of people and I hope I was able to achieve it. So, now the cat’s out of the bag! I hope people love my new avatar in TGIF. I’m eager to see how Bhajan Kumar is received by audiences. I know I have poured my heart into bringing him to life on the big screen.” 


The film is set in the heartland of India and revolves around the madness that ensues within Vicky's family due to some sudden developments that are beyond anyone's control.   


The film also stars Manushi Chhillar, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, Sadiya Siddiqui, Alka Amin, Shrishti Dixit and Bhuvan Arora.   


‘The Great Indian Family’, directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, is all set to release on September 22.
