New Delhi: ‘The Accident Prime Minister’, which has remained in controversy ever since the trailer was unveiled, has hit the silver screens today. The film starring Anupam Kher, Akshaye Khanna has been directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte and is based on the 2014 memoir of the same name by Sanjaya Baru. Veteran actor Anupam Kher, who has played the role of former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, has received praises from critics and fans for his brilliant performance in the film.

The trailer of the film drew flak from the Congress party and a petition was filed in court by a Delhi-based fashion designer, demanding a ban on the film's trailer. The Delhi High Court had dismissed the PIL seeking a ban on the trailer of the movie.
