New Delhi: Nawazuddin Siddiqui's 'Thackeray' and Kangana Ranaut's 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi', both fared well at the box office after two days. As reported earlier, 'Manikarnika' witnessed a remarkable growth on Republic Day and collected Rs 18.10 crore, which is the highest ever single day for a woman led film, giving it a total of Rs 26.85 crores in business. Whereas, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Amrita Rao starrer 'Thackeray' too witnessed jump on Republic Day and has fared well.

The biopic of Bal Thackeray had collected Rs. 6 crore on the first day of its release whereas it earned Rs. 10 crore on Saturday, giving it a total of Rs. 16 crore (including Hindi & Marathi version).

Trade Ananlyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and posted about the film's collection. He wrote, "#Thackeray biz jumps on Day 2... Gets the benefit of #RepublicDay holiday... While #Maharashtra continues to lead, the remaining circuits show an upward trend on Day 2... #Marathi version is excellent... Fri 6 cr, Sat 10 cr. Total: 16 cr. India biz. #Hindi #Marathi."

The film is garnering good response from critics as well as audience and is expected to collect decent numbers on Sunday as well.

Directed by Abhijeet Panse, 'Thackeray' follows Balasaheb's life and his transition from being a cartoonist to becoming one of the most respected and powerful politicians of India.
