Ever since Tanushree Dutta accused Nana Patekar of harassing her on the sets of the film ‘Horn Ok Please’, people have called it the start of #MeToo movement in India. Although Bollywood stars like Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar have supported Tanushree but several biggies like Ambitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan chose to stay away from the conversation. Priyanka, who has returned to India after enjoying a vacation with fiancé Nick Jonas, extended her solidarity to Tanushree.


PeeCee had quoted her ‘The Sky is Pink’ co-star Farhan Akhtar’s tweet and wrote, "The world needs to #BelieveSurviviors". Priyanka’s tweet on the micro-blogging site had garnered the attention of Twitterati and they applauded her for speaking up on the issue.


Tanushree, who is happy with the support pouring from all corners, has reacted to Priyanka calling her a survivor. While talking to an entertainment portal, the ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’ actress said that she wants to truth to be out for the future generations.

"Well, it's amazing. She ( Priyanka) has finally decided to join the bandwagon. It's probably a smart thing to do at this point of time. But I just want people to know that I am not going to be reduced to a survivor. I have a name, I have a story and I have this truth that I am trying to get out because it's not for me but for people who will come forward in the generations to come," Tanushree told Zoom.

"In the new future we'll have cases coming forward. So let's not generalise this thing. There are people who are genuinely supporting me and those are the people who I would like to focus on. But ya, thanks to each and every person who tweeted. It's great!", Tanushree further told the portal.

The 34-year-old actress also thanked Twinkle Khanna for her support but questioned why her husband Akshay Kumar is still working with Nana Patekar.
