Mumbai Police has been interrogating and recording statements of people related to the actor for a long time now. Mahesh Bhatt was also called in for interrogation on Monday.

On 27th July, the Mumbai Police has received the viscera report of the late actor. Based on a report of Times Now, the viscera report has ruled out any foul play in the death of Sushant. The reason for the actor’s death was cited as asphyxia in the post-mortem report in addition to no external injury marks or foul play. However, stomach wash fluid and nail sample reports are yet to come.
The director-producer Mahesh Bhatt has recorded his statement in the death case at the Santa Cruz Police Station on Monday.
The police are investigating allegations that professional rivalry, besides clinical depression, drove the actor to suicide.
Karan Johar’s manager has also been called in for questioning. If necessary, the ‘SOTY’ director will be asked to record his statement, said the Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. Earlier, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Aditya Chopra and Rajeev Masand have been called in for recording their statement.
In another development of urging CBI investigation into the case, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has acknowledged the letter written by Subramanian Swamy for a probable CBI enquiry. Swamy has mentioned in his letter that he has learnt from his sources that some Bollywood biggies are trying to cover up the case.
The letter read, “I learn from my sources in Mumbai that many big names in the Bollywood Film World with links to Dons in Dubai are seeking to ensure a cover-up is carried out by the Police so that voluntary suicide is concluded as the reason for the demise of Mr Rajput.”
