New Delhi: Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide by hanging himself at his place in Bandra on Sunday (June 14). The tragic news of his death sent shock waves across the industry. The ‘Kai Po Che’ actor was reportedly battling depression since the last six months. Fans mourned the loss of their favourite actor and even trended the hashtag #JusticeForSushantSinghRajput on Twitter.


Sushant’s father and two sisters flew from Patna to Mumbai to attend his last rites, which took place at Pawan Hans crematorium, Vile Parle on Monday (June 15) amid heavy downpour.

Sushant’s US-based sister Shweta Singh Kirti is flying to India to extend support to her family amid the tough times. She took to Facebook to inform everyone that she will reach Mumbai via Delhi and also expressed her concern over the seven-day quarantine period.


"By everyone's help.... tickets to India are confirmed. I am flying on 16th, will reach Mumbai via Delhi. Worried about 7 Day quarantine period... is there a way it can be waived off? I need to get to my family soon,” Shweta wrote.



Shweta also revealed how her five-year-old son and Sushant Singh Rajput’s nephew reacted to the news of his death.

She wrote, “When I told Nirvanh the news that Mamu is no more, he said “But he is alive in your heart” 3 times. When a 5 yr old can say something like that... think how strong we should all be.... Stay Strong everyone.... especially the fans of Sushant... please understand he lives in our hearts and he will always keep doing so....Please don’t do anything that can hurt his soul....Stay Strong! #LongliveSushant #Keeppraying.”

Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film will be ‘Dil Bechara’, which was slated to hit the silver screens in May 2020. However, it couldn’t release on its scheduled date due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film, which is the Hindi adaptation of ‘The Fault in our Stars’, will mark the Bollywood debut of Sanjana Sanghi.
