According to a report in a leading daily, production houses are looking to release their films as cinema halls and multiplexes across several states are set to re-open from October 15. The first major film to have a theatrical release after the re-opening of cinema halls will be 'Dil Bechara', the report said.
"After the film's phenomenal success on Disney+Hotstar, it was decided that whenever theatres open, the love story will be formally released on the big screen as a tribute to the actor," a source told Mid-Day.
Interestingly, three more films including 'Indoo Ki Jawani', 'Tenet' and 'Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari' are also expected to have a theatrical release if things go as planned. Kiara Advani and Aditya Seal starrer 'Indoo Ki Jawani' was slated to release on October 2; however, it will now hit the cinema halls in November.
The makers of 'Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari' are considering to release their flick in cinema halls in addition to its ZeePlex premiere, the report said.
Talking about 'Dil Bechara', the film is the Hindi adaptation of John Green's novel 'The Fault in our Stars'. Sushant played the role of Manny opposite Sanjana Sanghi. When the makers announced the release of the film on Disney+ Hotstar, fans trended the hashtag #DilBecharaOnBigScreen and requested them to release the movie in theatres.
