Actor Sunny Deol has confirmed that he is a part of the much-anticipated Nitish Tiwari’s 'Ramayana'. This news comes after months of speculation surrounding his role in the two-part epic film. Sunny, confirmed his participation in the film and offered some intriguing details about the project.

Sunny Deol speaks about Ramayana

In a conversation with SCREEN, Sunny spoke about the scale and ambition of the project, likening it to other visually grand films like Avatar and Planet of the Apes. “Ramayana is a long project because they’re trying to make it the way Avatar and Planet of the Apes movies were made. All those technicians are a part of it. The writer and director are very clear about the way it has to be and how the characters should be presented,” he said.

Sunny further told SCREEN, "You will also get to see the special effects that will make you believe that it (the events unfolding) has very genuinely happened rather than making one feel that these are special effects. To be honest, I’m very sure it’s going to be great and I’m sure that everybody will love it.”

While there have been persistent rumors that Sunny Deol will portray Hanuman in the film, he chose not to confirm this during the event.

Ranbir Kapoor on Ramayana

Earlier Ranbir had shared that he had completed filming the first part of the Ramayana and will soon begin shooting for the second. The actor expressed his excitement about playing Lord Ram, calling it a "dream role."

Speaking at the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah, Ranbir stated, “It has two parts. I have finished the shooting of Part 1 and will shoot Part 2 soon. Just to be a part of that story, I am so humbled to essay Ram’s role. It’s a dream for me. It’s a film that has everything. It teaches what Indian culture is about — family dynamics and husband-wife dynamics.”

In this ambitious adaptation of the Indian epic, Ranbir will portray Lord Ram, alongside Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. The ensemble cast also includes Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi and Sunny Deol reportedly as Hanuman.
