This day (24th February) last year, Bollywood's first female superstar Sridevi died at the age of 54 due to accidental drowning in the bathtub in her hotel suite in Dubai which left the film industry, her family and fans in a state of shock. On the first death anniversary of 'English Vinglish' actress today, her daughter & actress Janhvi Kapoor paid a tribute to her mother on social media by posting a throwback picture along with a heartbreaking caption.

Janhvi Kapoor, who made her Bollywood debut with the hit film 'Dhadak' opposite Ishaan Khatter, took to her Instagram account and posted a picture in which Sridevi is holding her hands whereas she appears to be sitting in the 'Chandni' actress' lap. The picture has been captioned as, "My heart will always be heavy. But I’ll always be smiling because it has you in it."

Janhvi's mother Sridevi couldn't see her debut film, Dhadak, which hit the screens on July 20 as she passed away five months before the film's release. Ever since then, its been an emotional journey for Janvhi who got rave reviews for her performance in the film.

For the uninitiated, Sridevi made her acting debut as a child artist in 'Julie' which released in 1975. Later, she went to establish as one of the most popular & biggest actresses of Bollywood. The actress was last seen posthumously in Shah Rukh Khan's 'Zero' which hit the theatres last year in December.

Speaking about Janhvi Kapoor, she is following her mother's footsteps and we hope she too establishes herself as a top actress. After the success of her first film, Janhvi Kapoor has films like 'Takht' & Gunjan Saxena's biopic in her kitty.
