Mumbai: Bollywood actor Sonu Sood, who launched coaching scholarships for IAS aspirants, has received over 1 lakh registrations for his new initiative. Last week, Sood shared a post on social media to inform his followers about his new initiative, ‘Sambhavam’, which aims to provide coaching scholarships to the students aspiring to join the civil services.  


Sonu has promised to provide scholarships to the ‘deserving candidates’, who have registered for the initiative. He tweeted, “We received 1 lakh + registrations for IAS Coaching Scholarships. Will make sure the deserving candidates get their due.”

Sonu Sood has joined hands with a youth organisation , DIYA Delhi, to launch the initiative for the IAS aspirants. The ‘Dabangg’ actor, while announcing the noble initiative, said that he would take the responsibility of providing required coaching to the students.  



How To Apply For Sonu Sood’s IAS Coaching Scholarship? 


According to Sonu Sood's Twitter post, students can submit their application till June 30. They will have to register on Sood Foundation to apply for the scholarship. The IAS aspirants will be provided free coaching if they get selected.  One can visit www.soodcharityfoundation.org for additional details.



Sonu, who emerged as a messiah for the migrant workers during last year’s lockdown, is now busy extending support to the people amid the COVID-19 pandemic. He has been actively using social media platforms to provide assistance to the needy, who have been affected by the Coronavirus crisis.  


A young boy recently walked barefoot from Hyderabad to Mumbai to meet Sood to laud him for his humanitarian work. The ‘Simmba’ actor requested his followers to avoid taking troubles to meet him and instead stay at home to keep the virus at bay. 


“Venkatesh, walked barefoot all the way from Hyd to Mumbai to meet me, despite me making efforts to arrange some sort of transportation for him. He is truly inspiring & has immensely humbled me. Ps. I, however, don’t want to encourage anyone to take the trouble of doing this,” his post read.



Sonu, while talking to IANS, confirmed that he would set up oxygen plants in different states of India. He told the news agency that the O2 pants would be set up near the hospitals so that patients don’t face shortage of oxygen during an emergency. 


On the professional front, Sonu will be next seen in 'Prithviraj'.  The period drama co-starring Akshay Kumar will mark the Bollywood debut of Manushi Chillar. Sood also has Telugu film 'Acharya' in pipeline.
