New Delhi: Bollywood actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood, who has been selflessly helping migrant workers amid the Covid-19 outbreak, on Sunday urged people to send only genuine requests after several tweets seeking help went missing mysteriously.

He tweeted, “Would request people to send requests only which are genuine. Have observed people tweet and later delete their requests which proves their are many fakes. This hampers our operation and will affect the real needy. So kindly think about the ones who need us.”

The actor on Saturday sponsored a flight to help more than 180 migrant workers reach their hometown in Uttarakhand’s Dehradun from Mumbai. Sood along with his team and restaurateur Neeti Goel have been arranging for buses, trains and flights to help migrants reach their hometowns amid the pandemic-induced lockdown. He also helped around 28,000 people across the coastal lines of Mumbai to stay safe from the cyclone Nisagra recently.

In a tweet posted on Monday, the Dabangg actor also urged people to stay away from people asking for donations. He wrote, “Kindly don’t fall in any trap. Their are many fakes trying to take the advantage. So please report to the nearest police station.”

Sonu Sood also came to the rescue of 'Begusarai' actor Rajesh Kareer, who had requested for help in a heartbreaking post on social media. The 'R Rajkummar' actor personally called him and promised to arrange transportation for him and his family.
