Boman Irani and Vir Das starrer Sant Banta Pvt.Ltd has landed into a problem as the members of the Sikh community under the banner of Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha (GSGSS) staged a protest against the film on Friday.




The community stopped the screening of Santa Banta Pvt. Ltd at PVS Mall in Shastri Nagar alleged that the movie portrayed the religion in an undignified manner. They also burnt posters of the movie.

As per the reports on TOI, Sikh community Leades had threatened to lodge a protest and has asked the theaters not to screen the movie.



Protesting outside the theatre at PVS Mall, Jasbeer Singh Khalsa, secretary, GSGSS, said, "Not only have the movie makers made fun of Sikhs, but have also portrayed our religion in an undignified manner. After watching such movies or listening to Santa Banta jokes, our children are teased by their friends. We won't allow the movie to be screened in the city."

"We offered prayers outside the theatre. We won't allow the movie to be screened as it disgraces our religion," said Sujeet Singh Goldy, general secretary, GSGSS. Members of the Sikh community also burnt banners of the movie outside the mall while raising slogans. Talking to Times Of India, Manoj Mishra, unit manager, INOX theatre, PVS Mall, said, "We will not screen the movie until any decision is taken by the district administration about it."
