The deadly attack took place in Liaquatabad area of the city.
According to eyewitnesses, Amjad Sabri was critically wounded in the attack. He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he died from his wounds.
Speaking to SAMAA, Amjad Sabri’s assistant and his brother confirmed that the qawwal was no more.
His brother and driver were also injured in the firing.
There is a video that is going viral on youtube which is claimed to be of Amjad Sabri moments after he was shot at. Someone present in crowd gathered around seemed to have shot it.
