New Delhi: Veteran Bollywood and TV actor Shiv Kumar Verma, who has appeared in many films and shows, is suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). The 'Halla Boll' actor has been put on a ventilator. The Cine and TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) took to social media to seek financial help from the Bollywood biggies including Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan and Vidya Balan. The association requested the celebs to help Verma during the tough times as he was admitted to the hospital in a serious condition.

CINTAA urged the tinsel town stars to come forward to help the ailing actor and shared his bank details on Twitter. The association tagged Big B, Salman, Akshay in several tweets and asked the stars to provide financial help for the medical expenses of Verma.

"AN URGENT CALL FOR HELP! #CINTAA Member Shivkumar Verma is suffering from COPD and is also suspected of COVID-19. He is in need of urgent funds for hospital expenses. We humbly urge you to please help by donating whatever you can @amitbehl @akshaykumar @TeamAkshay @iamvidyabalan," the tweet read.



Amit Behl, senior joint secretary of CINTAA, while talking to a leading daily, said that Shiv Kumar Verma was hospitalized on November 30 after he complained of breathlessness.  He added that CINTAA transferred Rs 50,000 for his medical treatment after they came to know about his health condition. The 'Ishq Mein Marjawan' actor revealed that Verma's daughter approached the association for help.

“The reports (for coronavirus) may take time but we are preparing for the worse. As soon as we could manage to get details of his bank account, we posted the social media message seeking help,” Amit Behl told Hindustan Times.

On the professional front, Shiv Kumar Verma has worked in films like 'Halla Bol',  'Baazi Zindagi Ki' and several TV shows.
