Shakuntala Devi Movie Reactions :The Anu Menon movie is a biopic on the famed ‘human computer’ Shakuntala Devi. Starring Vidya Balan, Jisshu Sengupta, Sanya Malhotra, Amit Sadh, this film is inspired by true events and sheds light on the personal life of Shakuntala Devi. Vidya Balan portrayed the character with utmost confidence and conviction. The film celebrates the ‘not so normal’ independent woman creating a life of her own in England in the 1930s, which Bollywood usually keeps distance from. The movie also shows how a woman can be the happiest on her own without any male help to prop her up.

Soon after its release, Twitter flooded with reactions from audience and celebrities. People are appreciating the ‘Paa’ actress’ acting and her take on choosing such kind of a film. Amit Sadh, who also starred in this movie took to his Twitter to share his excitement on sharing the screen with Vidya Balan.

He wrote, “You made this experience truly special @vidya_balan. I have learned so much from you and continue to do so... Thank you for being you! You are AMAZING!”

Taapsee Pannu also loved the movie and said, “Vidya kasam bohot pyaari picture banayi hai…#ShakuntalaDeviOnPrime”

Also, fans are going gaga and appreciating the movie and the star cast:

Director Anu Menon while giving an interview with a leading daily spoke about her experience and views on the film. She said, “Apart from the fact that she was an amazing genius who lived an extraordinary life, the way she lived her life is a big lesson for us in today’s times. She was a woman who despite achieving so much, embraced the fact that she was not perfect. She lived life to the fullest, unapologetically on her terms, embracing the successes and failures of life."

"One of the things I loved about Shakuntala Devi’s story was, she was not scared to fail. The good and the not so good existed in Shakuntala so intrinsically that you can’t love her by just loving her genius. You have to love Shakuntala for all kinds of things she did, either right or wrong. So, I think that sort of attitude is what we should celebrate. That’s what excites me as a filmmaker and that’s what excited Vidya (Balan). She has said no to many biopics in the past because it just felt not true," the director added.

Other than ‘Shakuntala Devi’, two other movies will have OTT releases this week including ‘Raat Akeli Hai’, ‘Lootcase’.
