New Delhi: Shahid Kapoor and filmmaker Anees Bazmee had collaborated for a comedy film but the actor has now quit the project reportedly due to creative differences with the director.
Aneez Bazmee confirmed the development to News18 and shared that the film has been shelved for now and he will focus on his other film.
Without giving the reason for the fallout, the director told News 18, “I’m not doing the film with Shahid Kapoor. I will restart working on the same script after I wrap up the shoot of my next film because it’s a great script according to me. I will do it with some other hero.”
The filmmaker is currently busy in preparation for his film ‘Bhool Bhulaiya 3’ with Kartik Aaryan. The film is a sequel to the 2022 film 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2' which was a box-office success. Kartik Aaryan will be reprising his role as Rooh Baba in the film, and the sequel will be released next year.
“Right now, I don’t want to worry about the film I was supposed to do (with Shahid). My concentration is on Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. I will start shooting for the film early next year,” Bazmee told News18.
Apart from this, he also has the sequel of 'Rowdy Rathore'. Though the cast of the film is not yet decided, there have been rumors of Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani as frontrunners for the film.
He also has the sequel of ‘No Entry’ in the pipeline.
Shahid was last seen in 'Bloody Daddy', an action thriller film directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. It also stars Sanjay Kapoor, Diana Penty, Ronit Roy, Rajeev Khandelwal, Ankur Bhatia and Vivan Bhatena.
It is an adaptation of the 2011 French film 'Sleepless Night', which had previously had an Indian remake (in the Tamil language) as 'Thoongaa Vanam' (2015), starring Kamal Haasan.
