New Delhi: Veteran Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan, who was fondly known as Masterji, left for her heavenly abode on Friday (July 3). She was 71. Saroj Khan, considered as one of the finest choreographers in Hindi cinema, passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest. Shah Rukh Khan took to social media to mourn the demise of the talented choreographer. The ‘Chennai Express’ actor said that Saroj was his ‘first genuine teacher in the film industry.’

King Khan also revealed that the legendary choreographer taught her how to do the ‘dip’ while dancing. The ‘Zero’ actor thanked her for looking after him in his heartfelt post on Twitter.

“My first genuine teacher in the film industry. She taught me for hours how to do the ‘dip’ for film dancing. One of the most caring, loving & inspiring persona i have ever met. Will miss you Sarojji. May Allah bless her soul. Thank u for looking after me,” SRK tweeted.



One of the users shared a video from the sets of 'Baazigar' while replying to Shah Rukh Khan's tweet.



Another used posted a throwback video in which Saroj Khan revealed how she gave SRK his signature pose.



Vicky Kaushal, last seen in 'Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship', shared throwback pictures with Saroj Khan from IIFA Awards 2019. Saroj Khan was facilitated with an award for her 'Outstanding contribution to Indian Cinema' at the gala night in Mumbai.



Kareena Kapoor Khan shared a picture from the sets of 'Jab We Met' on Instagram. Saroj Khan had choreographed the hit number 'Yeh Ishq Haye' featuring Kareena.

Bebo wrote, "Master ji always told me... perrr nahin chala saktiii toh kam se kam face toh chalaaaaa. That’s what she taught me... to enjoy dancing, smile and smile through the eyes. There can never be another... Dance and expression can never be the same for us actors and for everyone who loved her...Love you master ji. Till we dance again... RIP #SarojKhan."



Saroj Khan was admitted to Guru Nanak hospital in Mumbai last month after she complained of breathing issues. Her last rites were conducted at Malad burial ground.

Khan, who worked with top stars in Bollywood, is known for choreographing the iconic numbers of Madhuri Dixi and Sridevi.

On the professional front, Saroj Khan last choreographed the song ‘Tabah Hogye’. The song from ‘Kalank’ featured Madhuri Dixit.
