Mumbai: Who can ever forget Shah Rukh Khan’s character in ‘Chak De India’? The sports drama, which created ripples at the box office, completed 14 years of release on August 10, 2021. King Khan, who played the role of Indian Women’s Hockey team coach in Shimit Amin's directorial, shared a heartfelt post to thank the team for making the film a ‘beautiful experience’.

As his successful film clocked 14 years of release, SRK posted a picture to express his gratitude towards the cast and crew of ‘Chak De India’. He penned a note to thank the producers for making him the ‘Gunda’ of the film.  


Movie buffs will fondly remember the dialogue where the ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ actor addressed himself as a ‘Gunda’ in ‘Chak De India’. The iconic dialogues of the film are quite popular among the audience even after 14 years. 


Shah Rukh shared a selfie wherein he can be seen donning a hoodie. The ‘Chennai Express’ star completed his look with sunglasses. He captioned his post as, “Just felt like thanking all the young ladies of Chak De India for making the film such a beautiful experience. And #ShimitAmin, Adi, @yrf, #MirRanjanNegi, #JaideepSahni, @sudeepchatterjee.isc, @sukhwindersinghofficial and all involved with this labour of love for making me the ‘Gunda’ of the film.” 



Shah Rukh bagged the Best Actor Award for his power-packed performance as Kabir Khan a the Filmfare and IIFA Awards 2008. ‘Chak De India’ was honoured with the ‘Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment’ award at National Film Awards.

On the professional front, Bollywood’s Badshaah was last seen in ‘Zero’, which released in 2018. The film co-starring Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma was directed by Aanand R Lai. 


SRK will make his comeback to the silver screen with YRF’s ‘Pathan’. The 'Kal Ho Na' actor started shooting for the action drama in 2020. The highly-anticipated flick also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in key roles. YRF is yet to officially make an announcement about ‘Pathan’, which is being helmed by Siddharth Anand.
